Napoli advanced to the quarterfinals in last year’s tournament by routing Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 on aggregate before being eliminated by Milan in an all-Italian matchup.

Currently third in La Liga, Barcelona is led by young forwards João Félix and Ferran Torres as well as veteran forward Robert Lewandowski who have combined for eight goals so far in this tournament. Lewandowski is third all-time in UEFA Champions League goal scoring, trailing only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, tallying 93 goals with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Barcelona since 2011.
Napoli is seventh in Serie A despite the efforts of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s team-high 11 goals with two more goals to his credit in this tournament.
Barcelona has not lost to Napoli since a 2014 friendly and is unbeaten in five previous Europa League and Champions League matches dating back to 2020 when it eliminated Napoli in the Round of 16 4-2 on aggregate.
